ASHTON KEYNES CRICKET CLUB 2011
Minutes of the meeting of the Committee of Ashton Keynes Cricket Club, held on 5th May, at 17 Milling Close Ashton Keynes, at 8:15pm.
Present: Dave Wingrove, Guy Collister, Mark Brooks, Ian Woods, Tom Waller, Mark Farnham
1. Apologies for absence were received from Mike Grier and Alan Waller.
2. Minutes of previous meeting These were approved without alteration.
3. Matters arising Minutes to be added to website Carried forward. Access to the website needs discussing. Action: MG
Junior representation on Committee An e-mail has been sent to H Humphreys, T Finnie & T Woods. MB to chase for response.
Nets A further £85.00 given to GC, total from nets £150.00, representing a small profit.
Bingo Night Carried forward. Action: MG
Sport England Carried forward. Action: DW
4. Dance 2011/12 A number of ideas were discussed and further investigation into the costs and logistics of holding a Casino Night was decided upon. Action: MF Dates to be checked (10/03/12 or 17/03/12) Action: DW
A date for the Awards Dinner needs to be set for early autumn. To be decided at June’s meeting.
5. Reports from officers of the club Treasurer Still c.£3k available in the bank. Will produce a pro forma sheet to control the collection of match fees & subscriptions. MB to collect fees & subs. Fixture Secretary Kempsford friendly has not yet been re-arranged. League contacts for results has been received and e-mailed to MG, MB & DW. Juniors 2011 enrolment is tomorrow (6th May). Has to be seen to be an organised and safe environment. To this end as many helpers as possible are needed. For the 2011 season we have teams entered at U11 & U9 (matches on Sundays) but we still need a team manager for the U9‘s. IW will talk to Julie Carter about possible role within Junior set-up. Ground The recent work party was very successful. The new shed needs some re-felting work (MF has some spare felt). E-mail to be sent, work party 14/05 at 1030. Action: MB Square is on course to be ready for the first home match on 14/05. MF raised a concern regarding the safety of the tree in the corner of the ground used as a den by a number of children. Kevin to be approached to investigate its’ condition. Action: IW
6. Child Protection Issues Nothing to report.
7. AOB Whereabouts of the scorebook brought up. MB confident that MG has it safe. IW has new balls for the season. The catch net has been bought by Alan and is in the shed. (First used at Junior enrolment on the 6th, an excellent bit of kit - cheers Alan.)
